“And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.”
Romans 16:20
Some of you have been fighting battles nobody at church knows about. You're tired, and you've been fighting them alone.
You don't have to have it together to come. Come as you are this morning, and let's stand together.

Some battles are loud. Others are quiet and long, the kind you carry to work and back home again without anyone noticing.
If that's where you are, you can stop trying to win this one before you show up. The verse says the God of peace is the One who puts the enemy under your feet. That's His work. Your part is to stay close to Him and close to the people who love you.
Let someone pray with you. Or sit in the back and just breathe for a while. Either way, you'll be standing with family.
The story behind it
In March 1842, George Müller was caring for orphans in Bristol, England, and the money had run out. One morning he left his house a little after seven to see whether there was enough to pay for the milk that came at eight.
He prayed as he walked. He asked the Lord to pity them “even as a father pitieth his children,” and not to lay more on them than they could bear.
About two minutes from the orphan houses, he passed a man on his way to work. They talked for a moment, and Müller went on. Then the man ran after him and put a pound in his hand for the orphans.
Müller wrote that day about the loving interest our Father takes in everything that concerns us. He was carrying something heavy that morning, and he wasn't carrying it alone.

Pray
Lord, You know the fight I've been carrying. I'm tired of carrying it alone. Give me Your peace this morning, and bring me near people who will stand with me. Amen.
Say it today
I am not alone. The God of peace fights for me.
Come as you are.
