The Bible starts with two people hiding from God's face. It ends with this:
“And they shall see his face.”
Revelation 22:4
Whatever you've done and whatever you've carried, that's where your story is headed: face to face with a Father who has wanted you home the whole time.
So lift your head today. You're closer to that day than you were yesterday.

Some mornings the end of the story feels far away. A diagnosis, a child who won't call back. It's hard to think about forever when today is this heavy.
Today is one chapter, and He already wrote the last page. Every hard day you walk with Him brings you closer to seeing His face with nothing left to hide.
Let the ending give you strength for the middle.
The story behind it
Fanny Crosby was blind from the time she was six weeks old. A cold inflamed her eyes, and a stranger called in place of the family doctor treated them with hot poultices that destroyed her sight. She wrote later that she felt no resentment toward him.
She grew up to write hymns that churches still sing. One of her dear friends was the singer Ira Sankey, and one day he wrote her a letter.
If she reached heaven before him, he asked, would she watch for him at the gate? Then he would take her by the hand, and they would stand before the Lamb together and say, “And now we see Thee face to face.”
A woman who couldn't see, and a friend already picturing the moment they would both see His face. That's where her story was headed. It's where yours is headed too.
Pray
Lord, thank You that my story ends with Your face. Give me strength for today's part of it. Help me walk this day like someone headed home. Amen.
Say it today
I am headed home. I will see His face.
Come as you are.
