“But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:42
Martha was serving Jesus. Mary was sitting with Him. Jesus loved them both, and He told Martha that Mary had chosen the better part.
Some of us have spent years serving God and very little time sitting with Him. Sit first this morning. The serving goes better from there.

If you're the one who keeps things running at home or at church, this one's for you. Being needed can slowly turn into believing you're only loved when you're useful.
That way of thinking wears you out. In His house you serve because you already belong, and the love was settled long before the work started.
Give Him ten quiet minutes before the list today. Everything on it will still be there.
The story behind it
Jesus came to the village where Martha and her sister Mary lived, and Martha welcomed Him into her house.
Mary sat at His feet and listened. Martha was pulled in every direction by all the serving. Finally she came to Jesus and said, “Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone?”
Jesus said her name twice. “Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful.”
